Series XI and XII: Good idea/Bad idea?

Dave has commissioned two further series of Red Dwarf.

What's your reaction? Are you excited? Trepidatious? Entirely opposed?

I expect it will suck, let's face it, Back to Earth was pretty poor.

I also expect to watch every episode more than once and to buy the DVDs when they're out, even if they are terrible. Because there'll be at least some funny jokes and, well, it's Red Dwarf.

I'm not expecting miracles, either, because there's just not the same charm with the new episodes that the old ones had, but even if it sucks, I will watch every episode because it's Red Dwarf, and I have principles.

Trepidatious is probably a good word. I actually haven't seen Series X yet.

I'm excited. I've waited two full years for this announcement - after Doug went silent last year on Twitter, I feared the worse. With a bit of tightening up of the scripts (and judicious editing of said scripts) I think the series' could be very good. As long as Doug doesn't plan on dragging out the Kochanski storyline again, like he did in X.

Hulu has Series X now, and it's on YouTube and DaveTV if you can stream it from the UK.
