So, dear Dwarfers, Who is your favorite Red Dwarf character, and more importantly, why?

I apparently have a thing for the minor characters - Talkie Toaster and Mr. Flibble have a special place in my heart =)

Not sure I can pick a favorite among the main cast. I love the lot of 'em. Even Rimmer. (Which is probably the source of my longstanding irrational loathing for Ace.)

Rimmer is my squishie. I really don't now how anybody could hate him, he's so pathetic, it would be like kicking a three-legged puppy.

Ace, on the other hand, rather is annoying.

Rimmer Rimmer Rimmer!!! The Brittas Empire was my childhood favourite program (every 1/2 term and sick day I'd snuggle under a scratchy wool blanket and talk along with "Pregnant!"), so CB is my love. I also have a soft-spot for Kryten (the incongruity of an insecure android is just such a wonderful idea), but would happily never see Ace again if it wasn't for "Blue".

Rimmer is my fave too - i do have to admit to being slightly in love with him. :)But I love all the characters, it's the way they ineract with each other theat really makes the show great for me.
I'm not a fan of Ace either - although I do love Dimension Jump, getting to see Rimmer hating his alternate self is priceless.

Oh yes, and the attempted booby trap at the end, that was priceless! Too bad it didn't work. :P

Yeah, then we wouldn't have had to endure 'Stoke me a Clipper' - (my very least fave ep).

The bit i really love in DJ is where Rimmer makes the rude hand gestures at Ace. it makes me LOL eveytime - even though i know what's coming.

I have to say Rimmer is my absolute favorite. I love that he's smug, egotistical and basically out for himself most of the time. Every time he runs away from a fight, it just makes me love him even more.

It's actually nice to be in the majority for once because most of the time the characters I like on shows, everyone else is meh about.

BTW, Will there be a discussion post about the recent special that aired? I would do it, but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to start one?

hmm, I too like the minor characters. Talkie Toaster, Mr Flibble, Dwayne Dibbly.

I quite like Holly, and Lister followed closely by Cat. I like Holly because he/she does a good job of playing stupid when in actual fact he/she is quite clever. (the queeg practical joke springs to mind) I like Lister because he knows just how to get under Rimmer's skin and irritate him to the nth degree. I like the cat because he is so shallow and self serving that all you need to do is wave a shiny thing under his nose and he'd sell his own mother out. lol
